Qipao / Cheongsam

A qipao is cut close to the body — a centimetre decides whether it merely fits, or truly flatters. Ours are drafted from your measurements alone. Every bespoke qipao we make begins with a conversation, not a size chart.

The Craft

Tradition, Adjusted to You

The classic elements remain — mandarin collar, hand-knotted frog buttons, piped seams — but none of them is standard. Collar height follows your neck and posture; the slit is placed for how you walk and sit; piping is matched to the fabric and the occasion.

Choose silk brocade for ceremony, or a lighter weave for summer evenings. We will lay the fabrics out with you, drape them against your skin tone, and only then begin to cut. It is what makes a custom cheongsam different from a dress bought off the rack.

Made For

Weddings — for the bride, and just as often for the mother of the bride. Banquets and receptions. Tea ceremonies, portraits, and the days you simply want to wear something unmistakably Chinese and entirely your own.

Good to Know
A bespoke qipao usually involves two fittings — a first fitting in the basted garment, and a final fitting before delivery. Please allow unhurried time before your occasion; the exact schedule is confirmed at your consultation.
